03 / The sound

A beautiful musical mess.

Balaganist refuses to choose one musical language. The Tokyo-based instrumental group threads progressive-rock precision through jazz improvisation, Balkan motion and Middle Eastern colour.

The result is intricate without becoming clinical: odd meters that dance, melodies that travel, and enough space for every player to pull the music somewhere new.
